Low-Impact + Resource-Conscious
Shaped by reclaimed materials, rainwater harvesting, solar power, and traditional gas kiln firing.
Over the past three years, I stepped back from the studio to welcome my two girls into the world. In the flow of pause and return, I have more intentionally begun to consider the resources I use in my practice. While glaze firings are completed in a traditional gas kiln, I have felt a pull to create an ongoing collection that places waste reduction and resource care at its core. This collection sees the reclaim of materials from the studio — clay, wild clay, calcined shells, copper, steel, and glazes. While my energy sources are born of necessity, they are conscious decisions to keep my resources as low-impact as possible. My studio and electric kiln is fired using solar power, and my water comes from garden butts.
